David Salom’s team to compete in European rounds of World Supersport.

David Salom and Ilya Mikhalchik are thoroughly looking forward to challenging as the DS Junior Team steps up to the FIM Supersport World Championship in 2016. The outfit has already tested its Kawasaki ZX-6R at Jerez and Aragon this pre-season.

Ukraine rider Mikhalchik competed with the team at the last three rounds of last year’s Superstock 600 season, picking up a fifth place finish at Magny-Cours. Having featured in a total of three seasons in the now defunct category, the 19-year-old now looks forward to a full campaign in World Supersport.

“The last three races of the season served as good experience to work with the team and the bike, giving us some good time to pick up some good results,” says team owner Salom. “The tests we have done over the last few weeks have been very positive for the start of the new season. Ilya is a great rider and we hope to be in front at every test between now and the start of the new season.”
